Cherry Cordials from Mr. Food
 About 2-1/2 dozen cherries
2-1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened 2 tablespoons milk 1 (10-oz) jar stemmed maraschino cherries, well drained 1 (11-1/2-oz) package milk chocolate chips 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. 2. In a small bowl, combine the confectioners’ sugar, butter, and milk; mix until a stiff mixture forms. Pull off small pieces of the mixture and shape them evenly around each cherry; place on the baking sheet. Freeze for 15 minutes, or until firm. 3. In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and shortening over low heat until smooth, stirring frequently. 4. Remove the coated cherries from the freezer and dip each into the chocolate mixture, coating completely. Return to the baking sheet and chill for 1 hour, or until the chocolate is firm. Serve, or cover and chill until ready to serve.
